SFCAFU brings adjunct faculty together to protect workplace rights, strengthen professional conditions, and support the educational mission of St. Francis College.
Our organization
Collective representation with a democratic foundation
The St. Francis College Adjunct Faculty Union (SFCAFU), Local 7965, is recognized as the collective bargaining representative for covered adjunct faculty at St. Francis College.
The Union is affiliated with New York State United Teachers (NYSUT), the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), the National Education Association (NEA), and the AFL-CIO.
Our Constitution establishes a democratic structure led by five elected officers: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Lead Organizer.

Governance
Member authority and accountable leadership
The Union's Constitution and By-Laws describe officer duties, Executive Council authority, general membership meetings, elections, voting procedures, and protections for members' rights.
Members in good standing have rights to participate in union meetings, nominations, elections, referenda, and deliberations on matters open to the General Membership.
